The Scratch team has been working with SME’s in Aeronautics R&D,
helping them to create projects suitable for EU funding. This has been successful in Framework Programmes 4, 5 and F6,
with some €45 million obtained for SMEs across Europe.

The European Commission being now devising new rules in order to simplify the way for SMEs in Framework Programme 7,
the document “Removing Hurdles” written by the whole SCRATCH team, intends to outline the difficulties preventing SMEs
from being more involved in EU FPs RTD mechanisms and suggests modifications for FP 7.
