AeroPortal Servicing Team Members

AST is a network of partners, all European experts with extensive knowledge of European R&D support mechanisms and aeronautics technologies. This network is directly acting in several European countries (enlargement is permanent and follows general opening policy of the European Union). AST partnership has, up to now, set up and submitted more than 125 research project proposals (mainly submitted to the EU framework programme) led by small or medium-sized enterprises working in aeronautics.

AST supported projects have been funded for a total of more than € 60 M by the European Commission to the benefit of SMEs and their corporate policies.

AST know-how

  • On site visits of small enterprises who have expressed interest in the AST network
  • Information on technology acquisition opportunities offered by the EU aeronautical programmes (most often, info on the call for proposals under process)
  • Confidential follow up meetings with Small enterprises managers to better understand theirs needs and requirements
  • Synthesis, by the AST partnership, of the whole expressed needs and selection, for further support, of the most promising subjects in terms of innovation and capability of industrialisation at short term

Selection criteria for servicing

  • The research idea proposed by a candidate is innovating and fits with the goals and/or themes of the research framework.
  • The candidate is open to collaborative research principles (property, rights, patents, licences, et.) and asks for the services of a AST partner
  • The candidate can fund itself to a maximum of 5 % per year of its turnover, which signifies a strong commitment to the research proposal
  • The candidate is prepared to sign a teaming agreement in accordance with the three here above principles

Project proposal servicing

  • The definition and the structure of the research idea in a pre-proposal for research aimed at defined expectations
  • The search for complementary partners: other small enterprises, research centres, potential end users of the technology developed... necessary to the achievements of R&D objectives and allowing shared costs for the proposal
  • Advice on the envisaged project work-plan through contacts with Large Industry
  • Project management of the proposal preparation planning to insure timely submission to the relevant structure
  • The preparation of the proposal administrative part
  • Assisting with the setting up and submission to the relevant structure
