Expression Form
PARVIS - Parallel Visoelestic

The main principle application is dedicated at passenger comfort: on-board noise and vibrations reduction.

Start date
2001.04.01
Duration
18 months
EC Program Ref.:
5th FP
GROWTH Program
Indeed, spacecrafts and aircrafts have to support structural elements (satellite structural panels, airplane fuselage) and on-board electric and electronic equipments measures, which can be spoiled because of vibration and acceleration levels they are submitted to.

The aim of the project is to develop a new damping material, which preserves high damping performances under extreme temperature conditions and aircraft life with a minimum or no maintenance.

The project consists in the design and synthesis of new polymer materials which characteristics (damping properties) and objectives (performance stability on a large temperature range) will be clearly defined depending on the potential applications this material will be developed for. These materials will be at the root of innovative damping devices designed by the ARTEC Company for structure damping applications (patented SPADD Technology).

EXPECTED RESULTS
Project mid-term (03/2002): Presentation of material designs and associated performances -
Expected results: predictions in accordance with the detailed specifications.
Presentation of the exploitation and dissemination plans

Expected results: Well-defined exploitation perspectives.
Final results presentation and project achievements (10/2002): ARTEC will give all the results for validating material damping performances and stability on a large temperature range material implementation facilities. Expected results: material behavior and properties in accordance with the specifications
